Watch: Alicia Bugeja Said Meets Little Ella And Her Beloved Service Dog Sam

Just days after heartwarming photos of Sam patiently waiting outside surgery for little Ella touched many online, Parliamentary Secretary responsible for Animal Welfare, Alicia Bugeja Said has now met the young girl and her devoted service dog in person.

Sharing a video on Facebook, the Minister met with Ella’s parents to learn more about the incredible role Sam plays in their daughter’s daily life.

In the post, Bugeja Said wrote in Maltese that “for Ella, Sam is much more than just a dog… he is her best friend,” highlighting the unique bond the pair share.

During the meeting, Ella’s parents explained how Sam provides constant comfort, reassurance and support, helping their daughter navigate everyday life while always remaining by her side.

The visit comes shortly after the Service Dogs Malta Foundation shared touching photos of Sam waiting outside Mater Dei Hospital while Ella underwent a minor surgical procedure, a moment that resonated with thousands across Malta.

Every child deserves a friend like Sam.
