Margaret Qualley's Rep Slams Infidelity Rumors After Jack Antonoff Breakup

Margaret Qualley's team is pulling back the curtain.

Following news that she and Jack Antonoff have separated after nearly three years of marriage, a rep for the actress addressed their breakup for the first time.

“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue,” Qualley’s rep said in a statement to E! News July 10. “There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship.”

Her rep went on to note that the former couple “have deep love and care for one another.”

“There are only two people in this marriage,” they continued, “and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”

The pair’s separation news comes just days after Antonoff attended his friend and musical collaborator Taylor Swift’s July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce by himself, with Qualley nowhere to be seen. Instead, Antonoff’s sister Rachel Antonoff was by his side at Madison Square Garden.

And while it wasn’t unusual for the pair not to feature on the other’s social media save for the occasional post, it was unusual for them to attend a major event by themselves—especially one for such a good friend. After all, prior to Swift’s wedding, Qualley and Antonoff attended the Grammys together in Feb and in 2025, with them also stepping out as a matching set at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards.

The Substance actress, 31, and the Bleachers artist, 42, first sparked romance rumors in the summer of 2021, stepping out for the occasional public date night before Qualley debuted a diamond engagement ring in March 2022.

Almost a year and a half later, they tied the knot in an intimate August 2023 ceremony on Long Beach Island in New Jersey.

Shortly after the nuptials, Qualley told Harper’s Bazaar, “I am so happy that I found my person. And it’s real. It’s amazing. It’s the best feeling in the world. I’m so excited and so at ease all at once.”

In fact, The Maid star was so smitten with Antonoff when she first met him, that she dropped hints about their future in the earliest days of their relationship.

As she told the outlet, she was so smitten with the musician that after walking in wedding gown for Chanel at Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2021, she sent him photos of her dressed as a bride.

“I had this huge crush on him,” she recalled, “and it was just like, ‘What do you think?’

She pulled a similar stunt when she and Antonoff visited friends who had recently welcomed a child: “I’m holding the baby and I’m just like, ‘What do you think?’”

As for Antonoff—who previously dated Lena Dunham and model Carlotta Kohl—meeting Qualley changed his whole outlook.

"The second I met my partner a cynical part of me died,” he told i-D magazine in February. “The very Jewish, analytical, endlessly-weighing-everything part.”
