OYC commends Makinde, security agencies over release of Oyo pupils, teachers

The Oyo Renaissance Crusade (ORC) has expressed profound appreciation to the Government of Oyo State, the nation’s security agencies, and all stakeholders whose concerted efforts culminated in the safe release of the teachers and schoolchildren who were abducted in the Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued by its Director General, Comrade ‘Yinka Gbadebo, the group described the successful rescue of the victims as a welcome relief to their families, the educational community, and the entire people of Oyo State, noting that the development has renewed public confidence in the capacity of government and security institutions to respond effectively to security challenges.

According to the statement, the professionalism, resilience, and coordination demonstrated by the various security agencies involved in the operation deserve commendation.

The group noted that their commitment and sacrifice remain invaluable in protecting lives and preserving peace across the state.

The Oyo Renaissance Crusade, however, paid special tribute to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his exemplary leadership, deep commitment, and personal resolve in ensuring that the abducted teachers and children returned safely to their loved ones.

“The Governor’s handling of the unfortunate incident once again reflects a leadership style that places the welfare, security, and dignity of the people above every other consideration. Rather than treating the incident as just another security challenge, Governor Makinde demonstrated empathy, urgency, and strategic coordination that ultimately contributed to the successful outcome. This is the hallmark of responsive governance.”

The group stated that Governor Makinde has, throughout his administration, consistently demonstrated that the security of lives and property remains one of the cardinal objectives of his government through sustained investments in security infrastructure, support for security agencies, intelligence gathering, and community-based security initiatives.

The ORC further noted that as Oyo State approaches another governorship election, the people must consolidate on the gains already recorded under the present administration by electing a leader who possesses the capacity, vision, and commitment to sustain the existing trajectory of responsible governance.

According to the statement, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Movement (APM) Hon. Bimbo Adekambi represents the best opportunity to preserve and deepen the people-oriented policies, security architecture, and developmental initiatives that have distinguished the Makinde administration.

“The safe return of these innocent teachers and children is more than a successful security operation; it is a practical demonstration of what purposeful leadership can achieve. We believe the people of Oyo State should build upon this foundation by electing the APM governorship candidate Bimbo Adekambi in the forthcoming gubernatorial election. Such a decision will guarantee continuity in responsible leadership, strengthen the state’s security framework, and consolidate the developmental vision established by Governor Seyi Makinde.”

The Oyo Renaissance Crusade urged residents of the state to continue supporting the government and security agencies through timely intelligence sharing, vigilance, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that security remains a collective responsibility.

The group concluded by congratulating the rescued victims and their families while praying that Oyo State will continue to enjoy peace, stability, and sustained progress under leaders who place the interests of the people first.
