
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Cebu businessman Philip Lo has been appointed head of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV).
Before his appointment by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Lo served as chairperson of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), the Coast Pacific Group of Companies, and Toyota Mabolo Cebu, Inc.
He took his oath of office at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, July 8.

As the new OPAV chief, Lo will oversee the coordination and implementation of national government programs across the Visayas region.
In a statement, Lo thanked the President for his appointment and vowed to serve as a bridge between the Office of the President and the people of the Visayas.
“I sincerely thank the President for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas. I will serve as a bridge between the people of the Visayas and the Office of the President,” he said.
Lo said he would work closely with national government agencies, local government units, and other stakeholders to ensure government programs and services are effectively delivered to communities across the Visayas.

“One of my goals is to make government more accessible, responsive, and effective for every Visayan,” he added.
Philip Lo is expected to work closely with national government agencies and local government units to help advance the administration’s development priorities, as the OPAV is responsible for coordinating the implementation of national government programs and projects in Central Visayas.
His appointment forms part of the Marcos administration’s efforts to strengthen the delivery of public services and accelerate infrastructure, investment, and economic development across the Visayas.
