
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Inday (international name Bavi) exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Saturday morning, the state weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa)’s 10 a.m. outlook, the typhoon was outside the PAR as of 8 a.m.

The bureau also said Inday was last seen 555 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes as of 9 a.m. It maintained its strength as it was still carrying maximum wind speed of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

It was moving north-northwestward at 25 kph.
Meanwhile, in its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said that after exiting the PAR, Inday will move over the East China Sea and make landfall over the eastern coast of mainland China. It is forecast to remain a typhoon within the next 12 hours before it weakens into a severe tropical storm. /das
