LIST: Canceled ferry trips on Saturday morning due to Inday

MANILA, Philippines — Several ferry trips were canceled on Saturday morning due to the effects of Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi), according to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).

In an advisory, the PPA listed the following Port Management Offices with canceled trips as of 8 a.m.:

The PPA noted that it does not cancel trips, emphasizing that “if PCG [Philippine Coast Guard] issues no sail policy, trips are automatically cancelled because ships are not allowed to sail. Shipping lines may also cancel trips subject to compliance with the terms of their CPC issued by Marina [Maritime Industry Authority].”

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa)’s 10 a.m. outlook, the typhoon is now outside the PAR as of 8 a.m.

Pagasa noted that Inday will remain a typhoon within the next 12 hours before it weakens into a severe tropical storm upon moving further inland over mainland China. /das
