Rosie O’Donnell on Friday dismissed an AI-generated video shared by President Trump portraying himself as a doctor treating celebrities for “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as proof that the president is “obsessed” with her.
The video, posted earlier this month on Trump’s Truth Social account, shows the president dressed in a white lab coat and stethoscope claiming to have a “treatment plan” for those suffering from the fictitious disease.
It included fabricated testimonials from celebrity critics — including O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert De Niro and Julia Roberts, among others — talking about how “Dr. Trump” helped with their purported symptoms.
O’Donnell joked during an appearance on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” that she was “in good company” with the cohort of AI-generated stars.
“I seem to be, you know, the obsession he can’t get rid of,” she said.
The former “The View” co-host has been in a long-running feud with Trump, dating back two decades and well before he first ran for the White House.
She became one of Trump’s most outspoken critics during his first term, and he has previously referred to her numerous times as a “pig” and “loser.”
The president has also accused O’Donnell of being “obsessed” with him, sharing another AI-generated image last month that showed his image in thought bubbles above her head.
She took aim at Trump again on Friday, calling him a “mediocre man with such horrible, horrible reputation” and his election the “worst thing that ever happened to the United States.”
O’Donnell moved to Ireland with her now 13-year-old child just days before Trump was sworn in to office for the second time in January 2025. She described the U.S. political landscape at the time as “heartbreaking” and said she was “in the process” of obtaining Irish citizenship.
She told CNN host Jake Tapper on Friday that she left the U.S. out of “mental health concerns” for herself and her family and does not regret the decision.
The Emmy and Tony-award winning comedian is currently back in the country to star in a limited run of her one-woman show “Common Knowledge” at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City, which chronicles her personal journey after moving to Dublin.
