US President Donald Trump on Saturday issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying 1,000 missiles are locked and loaded to “completely decimate” the country.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the “orders have been given” and that the US military is ready to destroy the country in case Iran succeeds in assassinating the US President.
“1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME! Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran,” Trump’s social media post read.

The President’s remark came following an interview with The New York Post where he claimed that he has directed US officials to “bomb” Iran if Tehran succeeds in assassination bid at the sitting US President.
In an interview to the New York Post, Trump said that he has been on Iran’s “list” for a long time, adding that if Tehran succeeds, “there’ll be hell to pay”.
“I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with… The only thing is, I’ve left instructions, if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,” he reportedly said.
The interview follows a CNN report which claimed Israel shared intelligence with the US that Iran had recently devised a new plan to assassinate Trump. The report, citing sources, said the warning from Israel came this week and concerned a specific plot to assassinate the President.

The reports of fresh assassination bid by Tehran comes even as a huge crowd of mourners at the funeral of Iran’s slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei chanted: “We Will Kill Trump.” Khamenei was killed in an airstrike on the first day of the war, on February 28.
Trump says US, Iran agree to continue talks
Trump said the US and Iran agreed to continue talks despite an escalation this week but he added that the peace talks between the two sides last month was over. The US has maintained its demands that Iran stop attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

This week saw US attacks on several targets in Iran, with Tehran launching retaliatory strikes at American allies, including Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar. However, no new attacks were reported on Friday as regional mediators sought to salvage diplomatic efforts to end the war. The latest flare up started after Iran attacked three ships in the strait earlier this week.
