Emma Tiglao, Jojo Bragais warn public of fake Reina Filipinas TikTok accounts

Reigning Miss Grand International Emma Tiglao, who is the national director of the new national pageant Reina Filipinas, has warned the public about fake social media pages posing as the legitimate accounts of her organization.

“We would like to remind everyone to be cautious of fake TikTok accounts using the name Reina Filipinas and spreading false or misleading information,” Tiglao posted on social media on Saturday morning, July 11.

Reina Filipinas President Jojo Bragais also aired a similar call for pageant fans to be more discerning on social media and verify which ones are legitimate, and report the fake ones.

The fake accounts have been posting incorrect information about the pageant’s events, including dates and venues, as well as supposed confirmed candidates.

“While we do not know the intention behind these accounts, we strongly encourage everyone to verify information only through our official social media platforms,” Tiglao said.

“Help us prevent the spread of misinformation by following and sharing updates only from our verified official accounts. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation,” Tiglao said.

The Reina Filipinas pageant will present the official candidates at “The Grand Reveal: Welcome All the Reinas and Sashing Ceremony” on July 13 at the Crystal Palace of Aquila in the Sky in Silang, Cavite. The public may catch the show on the BragaisTV YouTube channel in real time starting at 6 p.m.

Among the pioneer batch of participants are 2025 Miss Eco International Alexie Brooks, 2023 Binibining Pilipinas International Angelica Lopez, 2025 Miss International Queen Philippines Anne Patricia Lorenzo, 2025 Miss Universe Philippines alumnae Scarlett Anne De Mesa and Kristen Marcelino, and 2021 Miss Bikini Philippines Zeah Nestle Pala.

The inaugural staging of the Reina Filipinas coronation show will take place at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on Aug. 7.

The competition will crown the Philippines’ delegate to the 2026 Miss Grand International pageant in India in October, and two candidates to the second edition of MGI All Stars in Thailand in December. /ra
