Three Arrested After Police Seize Cannabis, Ecstasy And Cocaine

Three men have been arrested following two separate police operations targeting suspected drug importation and trafficking in Malta.

In the first operation, two Italian nationals aged 22 and 19 were arrested after police carried out a controlled delivery of a suspicious parcel that had arrived from Spain.

The package contained 1.5 kilograms of suspected cannabis resin. Further searches at the residence where the two men were living led officers to uncover additional suspected drugs and items allegedly linked to drug trafficking.

In a separate investigation, a 21-year-old Maltese man was arrested after police allegedly found him in possession of 170 suspected ecstasy pills, as well as suspected cocaine and magic mushrooms, all believed to have been intended for trafficking.

The three men are expected to be arraigned in court today before Magistrate Dr Kevan Azzopardi, while police investigations remain ongoing.
