
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — A habal-habal driver was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City, on Friday evening, July 10, 2026.
The suspect was identified only as alias Carl, 32, a resident of Barangay Jugan, Consolacion.
Authorities confiscated from the suspect around 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P3.4 million.

The operation, conducted in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), stemmed from surveillance and monitoring of the suspect.
Authorities said they had earlier received reports about the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
The suspect claimed he did not know the identity of the person who instructed him to deliver the sachets of illegal drugs.
He said his source would only tell him where to deliver the illegal drugs and would pay him P2,500 for each delivery.

According to investigators, the suspect was a new player in the illegal drug trade, having allegedly been involved for only four months.
He also admitted making three to four drug deliveries every week.
The suspect will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
