MANILA, Philippines–ZUS Coffee continued its strong start in the 2026 PVL On Tour, sweeping an undermanned Choco Mucho side, 25-14, 25-20, 25-23, on Saturday at Batangas City Sports Center.
Coming off a four-set win over Akari in Wednesday’s opener in Ilagan, Isabela, the Thunderbelles improved to 2-0 behind another balanced effort, with contributions coming from veterans and newcomers alike.

Coach Jerry Yee’s squad controlled the match from the outset, relying on its depth while giving quality minutes to its new additions.

“While teams are not complete, our team is trying to practice our rotations because we have a lot of new players so we’d like to practice and give them some playing time,” Yee said.
No Thunderbelle reached double figures, but nine players scored at least five points. Chinnie Arroyo led the way with nine points, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and rookie Alyanna Ong added eight each.
Rachel Anne Daquis and Jolina dela Cruz contributed six points apiece, while Sam Nolasco, Kate Santiao, Riza Nogales and AC Miner chipped in five each.

Although Choco Mucho held a slim 40-38 edge in attacks, ZUS Coffee dominated at the net with a 17-4 advantage in blocks and scored 18 points off the Flying Titans’ errors while yielding 12.
Caitlyn Viray scored 12 points and Des Cheng added 10 for Choco Mucho, which played without Eya Laure, Sisi Rondina and Kat Tolentino.
The Thunderbelles appeared headed for an easier finish after opening a 22-17 lead in the third set before the Flying Titans strung together five straight points to tie it.

Jolina dela Cruz restored the lead with a timely attack, Viray answered to level the score again, but dela Cruz came through with another clutch hit before AC Miner sealed the victory with a block on Cheng after a long rally.
ZUS Coffee also recovered from a 0-4 deficit in the second set behind Gonzaga as disciplined defense and timely offense helped the Thunderbelles take a two-set lead.

The Thunderbelles dominated the opening frame before surviving Choco Mucho’s late push in the third to wrap up the straight-set victory in one hour and 16 minutes.
