15 Indians killed after boat capsized in Vietnam, confirms Indian Embassy
NEW DELHI: 15 Indians have been killed in a boat accident on Saturday in Vietnam. The incident happened when the speedboat, carrying 36 people, capsized about 400 metres (440 yards) off May Rut Ngoai Islet, authorities said.Tourist boats in the area rushed to assist after spotting the capsized vessel. A boat owner involved in the rescue said they reached the site within five minutes, but several passengers remained trapped inside the overturned boat, complicating the operation.
The Indian embassy in Vietnam relased the list of all 32 Indians on board and a separate list of the deceased. "It is with profound grief that we share the list of 15 Indian nationals who have lost their lives in the tragic boat accident near Phuc Quoc Island today.
The list has been recieved from the Vietnamese authorities. Our prayers are with the families of the deceased," it said while sharing the list of all who died.Of the 15 people listed, 10 are from Tamil Nadu, three are from Andhra Pradesh, and two are from Kerala.

The Embassy had earlier released of all the Indians who were on board.
PM Modi, President Murmu, defence minister Rajnath Singh were among the several national leaders who mourned the loss. Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay also offered condolences.
