
MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, will continue to bring heavy rains to large parts of the country, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 p.m. weather advisory on Saturday, July 11, that monsoon rains are expected over Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

Meanwhile, occasional rains are also expected to prevail over the following areas due to habagat:
Metro Manila
Rest of Mimaropa
Western Visayas
Negros Island Region
La Union
Pangasinan
Benguet
Zambales
Bataan
Pampanga
Tarlac
Bulacan
Rizal
Cavite
Batangas
Laguna
The weather bureau also reported that the southwest monsoon may bring gloomy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas.
The rest of Mindanao may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rains due to habagat.
Meanwhile, the trough of Typhoon Bavi, formerly Inday, may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, according to the weather bureau.
Pagasa, moreover, added that heavy rainfall may persist on Sunday, July 12, over Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro, projecting 100 to 200 millimeters of rain.
Around 50 to 100 millimeters of rain is also forecast on Sunday over the following areas:
La Union
Pangasinan
Benguet
Tarlac
Pampanga
Bulacan
Metro Manila
Rizal
Cavite
Laguna
Batangas
Oriental Mindoro
Romblon
Marinduque
Palawan
Antique
Aklan
Capiz
Iloilo
Guimaras
Negros Occidental
