
Epy Quizon expressed his gratitude to a ride-hailing app driver who went out of his way to return the actor’s lost mobile phone.
In an Instagram post on Friday, July 10, Quizon shared a photo with the TNVS (transport network vehicle service) driver, identified as Jhun Diaz, while holding the recovered phone.
“Meet Mr. Jhun Diaz, my Grab driver—and today’s reminder that good people are still everywhere,” Quizon began his post.

According to the actor, he accidentally left his phone inside Diaz’s vehicle after being dropped off. With no way for either of them to contact one another, the driver stayed near the area where he had dropped off Quizon, hoping the actor would realize the phone was missing.

“Almost three hours later, I finally noticed it was gone. My daughter Misha and my partner Mapet calls my phone and he answered, and within minutes, Mr. Jhun came back and returned it,” he recalled.

Quizon said what stood out most was not just the return of the phone, but the driver’s attitude.
“What I’ll remember most wasn’t just that he gave my phone back—it was the smile on his face. There was no annoyance, no irritation about the inconvenience. Just genuine happiness that he could help,” he expressed.

Quizon went on to commend Diaz for his integrity, saying, “Acts of honesty like this deserve to be celebrated. Thank you, Mr. Jhun Diaz, for your kindness, integrity, and compassion. People like you restore our faith in humanity.”
In the comments section, one netizen remarked that the good deed happened on Quizon’s father, Dolphy’s 14th death anniversary.

Quizon earlier paid tribute to the King of Comedy amid renewed calls for the veteran actor to be named a National Artist following the release of the sequel to the iconic sitcom “Home Along Da Riles.”
Meanwhile, Quizon recently made headlines after finally earning his college degree from De La Salle University, three decades after putting his studies on hold.
The actor revealed that he only needed to complete his thesis in 1996 but stepped away from school as “fear and circumstance” made survival his priority at the time.
