Celebrity couple Rere Madrid and Kai Sotto shared that they are expecting a baby boy during a party celebrating the upcoming arrival of their first child.
The couple shared the news at a bear-themed party, which also celebrated Sotto’s birthday. Among those in attendance were their families and celebrity friends, including Bianca Umali, the girlfriend of Rere’s brother Ruru Madrid, along with Gabby Eigenmann and Bianca Manalo.
The highlight of the party featured Sotto shooting a basketball, which set off an explosion of blue powder, indicating that their first child is a boy.

“From tiny kicks to big dreams, our greatest adventure is just beginning. It’s a boy,” Sotto exclaimed.
“Our first little one is on the way, and we couldn’t be more excited to meet you, son. The secret’s out, and our hearts are already yours,” he stated.
Just recently, during the Cinemalaya press conference, Ruru spoke about his support for his younger sister and Sotto, although he admitted he was surprised the first time he learned about Rere’s pregnancy.
The actor revealed that Rere first told the news of her pregnancy to Umali, who then relayed it to him.
“Kasi natatakot si Rere na i-open sa akin. Sabi ko wala naman siyang dapat ikatakot kasi with Kai, sobrang buting tao niya at mahal niya ‘yung pamilya niya. So alam ko na kung gaano niya kamahal ‘yung pamilya niya, gano’n din ‘yung pag-aalagang ibibigay niya sa kapatid ko,” Ruru said.
Ruru also credited Umali for making him realize the importance of trusting his siblings and letting them decide for themselves as adults.
“From that moment, tinanggap ko na matatanda na itong mga kapatid ko, hahayaan ko na sila. Ngayon, super close na kaming magkakapatid,” he said.
Ruru then looked forward to meeting his first nephew.
“First time kong makita yung kapatid ko na gano’n kasaya,” he remarked, referring to Rere. “Sabi ko nga, baka ‘yan talaga ‘yung calling niya…. ‘yung maging isang ina.”
Rere and Sotto tied the knot last May, then revealed their pregnancy the following June.
