Bandung City, W Java (ANTARA) - The Management Agency of the Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati (Rebana) Metropolitan Area (BP Rebana) pitched various investment opportunities to Malaysian business players during the 2026 ASEAN Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) held in Bandung, West Java.
"The interest shown (by the investors) has been exceptionally high. The next step is how we follow up by simplifying the licensing process, cutting bureaucratic red tape, and preparing the required workforce," Chief Executive of BP Rebana Helmy Yahya said here on Saturday (July 11).
He explained that the metropolitan area spans seven regencies and one city, boasting a population of around 10 million. It features four primary industrial zones covering approximately 43 thousand hectares.
Currently, the occupancy rate across these industrial zones remains below 10 percent, leaving substantial room for new developments.
"This means we still have tremendous untapped investment potential. Investors are welcome to explore opportunities across various sectors," Helmy noted.
He described Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati as one of Indonesia's most prepared economic corridors, supported by strategic infrastructure such as the Kertajati International Airport, Patimban Seaport, and an integrated toll road network.
Furthermore, West Java remains Indonesia's top investment destination, backed by a population of over 47 million and a workforce of 26 million.
"In 2025, West Java's export value reached approximately US$38.45 billion. With stronger bilateral cooperation, I am confident this figure can grow significantly," Helmy added.
Meanwhile, Group CEO of Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated Mej (K) Dato' Ts. Saipolyazan M. Yusop underscored Indonesia's role as Selangor's strategic economic partner in driving ASEAN's economic growth.
He noted that potential collaborations between Selangor and Indonesia span multiple sectors, including renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, the halal industry, logistics, the digital economy, healthcare, aerospace, education, smart cities, and food security.
"Selangor is ready to serve as a gateway for Indonesian businesses aiming to enter the Malaysian and broader ASEAN markets," Yusop said.
Through the SIBS ASEAN 2026, Selangor aims to foster deeper business partnerships, boost cross-border investments, and accelerate regional economic integration between Malaysia and Indonesia, with a specific focus on West Java and the Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati Metropolitan Area.
