
SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES, Philippines — Classes in both public and private schools in parts of this province were suspended on Monday (July 13) due to incessant rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
The respective local government units of the municipalities of Subic, Castillejos, San Antonio, San Narciso, San Felipe, Cabangan, Botolan, Masinloc, Palauig, as well as nearby Olongapo City announced Sunday night (July 12) the suspension of classes.

Moderate to heavy rains have been affecting the province and are forecast to continue until Monday afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said it is also monitoring a low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. /cb
