MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has a “medium” chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau reported on Monday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also said the weather system has a low chance of entering PAR.
According to Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, the LPA was last located 1,480 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao, farther from the landmass, so “it does not have any direct effect on any part of the country.”
