Court jails 4 for raping minor in Kano

A Kano State High Court has sentenced four young men to 10 years’ imprisonment each after convicting them of raping a minor.

The trial judge, Justice Aisha Mahmud, handed down the sentence after finding the defendants guilty of the offence.

In her judgement, Justice Mahmud held that the prosecution had proved its case against the defendants and consequently sentenced each of them to 10 years in prison.

The conviction is part of ongoing efforts by the authorities to ensure justice for victims and strengthen the fight against sexual violence and child abuse in Kano State.
