
LUCENA CITY – Rains unleashed by Typhoon Inday and the southwest monsoon have affected 4,525 families in the Calabarzon region (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon or Region IV-A), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported.These families are composed of 18,523 individuals, “although there are no longer any open evacuation centers.” Still, the agency “continues to coordinate closely with the affected local governments to provide the assistance and support they need for disaster relief operations in their respective localities,” according to its latest regional disaster monitoring report as of 12 noon on Sunday.
