
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday inaugurated the Benoni Port Light Craft Landing Station at the Port of Benoni in Mahinog, Camiguin, which is expected to accommodate 950,000 passengers by 2030.
The project, which is the port’s first dedicated facility for light-craft operations, will strengthen Camiguin’s primary transport link that connects the province to the Port of Jagna in Bohol and the Port of Balingoan in Misamis Oriental.

“These facilities will cater to domestic vessels; it will handle rolling cargoes, fuel, and other essential goods that support the daily needs of the people of the province of Camiguin,” Marcos said in his speech.

“By 2030, the projected volume of passengers passing through this new infrastructure will reach 950,000. Additionally, the number of vehicles is projected to rise to 155,491. Those are our projections,” he continued.
Moreover, the president stressed the significance of modern infrastructure in the province’s tourism and economy.
“Because this serves as a vital link that keeps people, goods, services, and therefore opportunities moving— that will enable families to return home, return to their businesses to transport their products, and for fishermen to bring their catch to the market, and tourists to enjoy this destination,” he said.
Apart from Benoni Port, Marcos said the government will continue to develop the Port of Balbagon and the Port of Guinsiliban to ensure Camiguin’s accessibility and connectivity. /mr
