CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, has lifted the no-sail policy effective Tuesday, following improved weather conditions.
However, authorities stressed that Memorandum No. 018, Series of 2026, does not “supersede” advisories issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) regarding gale warnings.
The MDRRMC reminded vessel operators, fishermen and sea travelers to continue monitoring official weather bulletins and to comply with PAGASA’s gale warning advisories, particularly for small seacraft that may still be at risk due to rough sea conditions.

The lifting of the no-sail policy comes after several days of weather-related travel disruptions in Lubang and neighboring island municipalities as enhanced southwest monsoon rains and strong winds affected sea travel across parts of Mimaropa.
Local authorities urged the public to remain vigilant as weather conditions may change rapidly despite the easing of restrictions./coa
