It looks like Malta is in for its hottest spell of the year so far, with the real feel temperature expected to climb to 40°C by Sunday.
According to the Malta Meteorological Office, temperatures will start ramping up from Wednesday, with the real feel reaching 39°C for several consecutive days before peaking at 40°C over the weekend.
Adding to the heat, while wind today exceeds Force 5, throughout the week winds are forecast to remain light, not exceeding Force 3, meaning conditions are expected to feel even hotter.
While the temperatures will be intense, they’re not unprecedented. Malta recorded a real temperature of 40.5°C in July last year, while the country’s highest-ever recorded temperature remains 43.8°C, set on 9th August 1999.
If you’re heading outdoors this week, make sure to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure during peak hours and keep cool.
How are you planning to beat the heat?
