Funeral of Ganesh Nepali, who died by self-immolation, held at Aryaghat (Photos)

Kathmandu, July 13

Ganesh Nepali, 25, from Mugu district, who set himself on fire, has been cremated.

Nepali, who died on Friday at Bir Hospital while undergoing treatment, was cremated on Monday at Pashupati Aryaghat.

On Thursday, Nepali had poured petrol on himself and attempted self-immolation in front of the Department of Passports in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu. He was taken to Bir Hospital for treatment after suffering severe burns.

His body was taken to Aryaghat for the last rites only after a nine-point agreement was reached between the victim’s side and the government on Sunday.
