
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A couple, both seniors, were injured after an unknown assailant stabbed them inside their store in Purok Pangalwan, Barangay Nailon, Bogo City, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, around 7 p.m.
The victims were identified as alias Roberto, 66, and his wife, alias Virginia, 65.
Both were residents of the said place.
Based on the investigation by the Bogo City Police Station, the victims were inside their store when the suspect suddenly arrived and took shelter outside because it was raining.

The couple even invited the suspect to take shelter in their store, but the suspect refused.
Sudden attack
After a few minutes, the suspect suddenly went inside the store and stabbed Virginia several times.
When alias Roberto saw what happened, he immediately shoved the suspect to stop his attacks.
But the suspect also stabbed alias Roberto.

Suspect flees with motorbike driver
After committing the crime, the suspect fled, riding a motorcycle driven by his waiting companion.
The victims were immediately brought to Cebu Provincial Hospital Bogo City for medical treatment, but they were referred to a hospital in Cebu City.
Currently, the police are still investigating the incident and identifying the suspect.

The incident is among the latest in gruesome events that were recorded by police across Cebu province over the weekend. These include the finding of a human head in Talisay City and the finding of a human cadaver in Carcar City, both in southern Cebu. Meanwhile, a tricycle driver had been shot dead while he was driving in the southeastern Cebu town of Dalaguete. A suspect in the latter incident has been arrested.
