Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes has mandated that all tax administration processes must be conducted exclusively through its digital Coretax system starting this month, marking a full transition to a unified network.
The rollout aims to improve institutional governance, enhance transparency, and eliminate off-system paperwork that previously hindered oversight.
"Starting this July, Coretax will truly become the core system," Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto announced on Monday.
"All paperwork for supervision, law enforcement, collection, and appeals will gradually be able to be processed only on the Coretax platform."
Prior to this comprehensive integration, several administrative procedures could still be processed on individual devices outside the network.
"To build trust with taxpayers, we are changing the old reality where, for years, paperwork could be carried on laptops, tablets, or mobile phones and handled outside the system—which lacked governance," Wijayanto explained.
"Today, we are enforcing a gradual implementation where operations can only exist within Coretax."
First introduced in 2025, the Coretax network has already driven growth in state revenue and filing compliance.
Official fiscal data as of July 2026 shows the volume of tax invoices rose 4.62 percent year-on-year. Unified Income Tax withholding slips grew 10.72 percent, while withholding slips for Article 21 Income Tax increased 17.79 percent.
Financially, total net revenue from individual income tax rose to Rp8.78 trillion (US$548.75 million), while gross corporate income tax revenue grew 56.8 percent to Rp25.11 trillion (US$1.57 billion).
National compliance for annual tax return (SPT) reporting also remains stable. As of July 2026, taxpayers had lodged 13,635,007 returns for the 2025 fiscal year, with the agency receiving an average of 82,636 filings daily.
"We will continuously fix system issues while ensuring that moving forward, the platform becomes simpler and provides greater legal certainty for all taxpayers," Wijayanto said.
