The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has nullified the Congresses that were held by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The appellate court also affirmed the judgment restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising or participating in any state congresses organised by committees appointed by the David Mark-led caretaker of ADC.
Daily Trust reports that the three-man panel was led by Justice Abba Mohammed but the lead judgement, which was delivered by Justice Okon Abang.
In a split decision of two-to-one, which Justice Mohammed dissented, the Appellate Court said it found no reason to set aside the restraining order given by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Recall that Justice Joyce Abdulmalik had issued the order against the Mark-led ADC on April 29.
Both Justice Okon Abang and Justice Donatus Okorowo upheld the order of trial Justice Abdulmalik, which restrained the Mark-led executives from interfering with the tenure and functions of the party’s elected state executives.
The appellate court, while agreeing with Justice Abdulmalik, noted that responsibility for conducting state congresses of political parties rests with elected state executive committees, not with the national Leadership.
But Justice Mohammed held that the trial court was wrong to have assumed jurisdiction to entertain the matter, noting that the Supreme Court had since made pronouncement that the affairs of the party can be addressed internally.
