
Martin del Rosario said despite the suggestive sexual content and intimate topics tackled in his new film “Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam,” he was very much at ease and comfortable as he was filming with co-actor Miguel Odron.
“Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam,” the only queer film participating in the 2026 Cinemalaya Film Festival, tells the story of a secret gay couple whose family is struggling to come to terms with their relationship.
Del Rosario expressed excitement about his new Cinemalaya film, which came 12 years since “Dagitab,” his first movie entry at the film festival.

He said that while there was very little explicit scenes in the movie, their director, David Corpuz, deemed it proper to get the services of an intimacy coordinator for a smoother flow of their intimate scenes.

“Meron kaming intimacy coordinator para lang alam namin sa isat isa na we’re willing na mahawakan dito or dito, kung saan magiging komportable kaming dalawa, kumbaga hindi magiging labag sa kalooban namin ang ginagawa namin, like kissing,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the opening ceremonies for the 22nd Cinemalaya festival.
This made doing the intimate scenes easier for him and Odron, who plays his partner in the movie.
“Kailangan ata aroused kami sa isat isa. Yun naman ang intensyon ng eksena… Walang ilangan, very professional. Na-practice namin yung intimate scenes namin as directed by the intimacy coordinator,” he said.
Despite the seemingly heavy content of the movie, the Kapuso actor said he is not expecting any awards at the culmination of the festival. “Basta lahat kami nageexpect na maganda ang nagawa namin.”

“Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam” is not del Rosario’s first LGBT-themed movie, as he also starred in the 2019 film “Born Beautiful.”
As the movie tackles gender-sensitive topics, such as queer relationships, he said people should learn to respect other people’s choices.

“Respetuhin natin yung decision ng ibang tao. Dapat di mo ina-out yung ibang tao kung ‘di sila ready. Kasi kanya-kanyang journey yan ng kanilang sexuality o anuman, so respetuhin natin,” he said.
Aside from del Rosario and Odron, other cast members are Yayo Aguila, Epy Quizon, Madeleine Nicolas, Bodjie Pascua, Bong Cabrera, Adrian Lindayag, and Nour Hooshmand. /edv
