APC primaries: Nasarawa Speaker concedes defeat

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has accepted his defeat in the All Progressives Congress, APC primary election for Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency.

The Speaker was defeated by another member of the state assembly, Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi (Kokona East) Constituency.

The Speaker who disclosed this when he received the Nasarawa State APC leadership in his office in Lafia on Monday described the result as “the will of God,” saying he has moved on.

“I have accepted it, as the will of God, that is how it’s supposed to be as leadership comes from God. And I have moved on, we should move forward for the victory of the party.”

The Speaker appreciated the APC leadership for the visit and assured them of his support towards the victory of the party and its candidates in 2027.

“Today, I received the State APC Chairman and other officials. They are here to appreciate me. They are also here to console me for what has happened in the last APC primaries,” Jatau said.

He reiterated his commitment to the unity and success of the APC in Nasarawa State.

The visit by the State Working Committee of the APC was led by the State Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Bello , who i the speakers office to appreciate him for accepting the primary result in good faith.

Bello said, “We came as a party, to appreciate him as a man of faith and a man who believes in destiny. After the APC Primaries, despite the outcome of the primaries, the Speaker came out clearly to identify with the party, the Governor and all the winners, it is something that needs to be appreciated and we came to appreciate him,” Bello said.

The APC Chairman added that Jatau has shown maturity and sportsmanship worthy of emulation.
