
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sen. Rodante Marcoleta was in stable condition ahead of his medical examination at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on Tuesday, July 14.
Marcoleta is currently confined at the PNP General Hospital (PNPGH) in Camp Crame after suffering from hypertension and mild pneumonia.
“As per the doctor’s report, he is still stable and no changes have been made to his health condition,” PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co told reporters in an interview in Camp Crame.

Marcoleta was arrested last July 6 over a plunder case in connection with a P75-million donation he received when he was a party-list representative.

The Sandiganbayan Third Division ordered the PNP to have Marcoleta examined at the PGH on Tuesday noon to determine whether the senator still needs to be confined at the PNPGH.
The court also ordered the PNP to bring Marcoleta to his hearing on Wednesday, July 15. /das
