A young Chinese man has been dubbed “Yunnan’s strongest matchmaker” for his funny matchmaking videos that turn clients’ flaws into advantages.
The 24-year-old man from southwestern China’s Yunnan province, who goes by the nickname Panlong, has amassed nearly three million online followers.
He went viral for a series called “A matchmaker’s language skills”, in which he boasted about his clients in a fun way, turning their flaws into strengths.
For example, in one video when a man says he works at a car repair shop, Panlong tells a woman that the man “drives different cars every day.”
He also describes a woman with diabetes as a “sweet girl”.
In another case when a man says he is a bricklayer, Panlong tells the woman he is a “junior college graduate” because the Chinese term contains a character homophonic to a character in “bricklayer”.
