Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg returned to X (formerly Twitter) after nearly three years to announce the public release of Meta's new AI model, Muse Spark 1.1. His posts drew a response from X owner Elon Musk, who said the platform offers companies a way to reach millions of users directly without relying on traditional press releases. Announcing the launch, Zuckerberg wrote, "Today we're releasing Muse Spark 1.1 -- a strong agentic and coding model at a very low price. It's available through our new Meta Model API and in Meta AI."Replying to the announcement, Musk wrote, "X is a great platform for product announcements, especially if done by the CEO directly. Way more interesting to the public than generic press releases. In a series of posts, Zuckerberg outlined the capabilities of the new AI model. He wrote, "Muse Spark 1.1 is strongest at agentic performance, tool use, and computer use. It does well on long-running tasks with 1M token context window, can delegate execution to sub-agents running in parallel, and is trained to use computer interfaces on desktop, mobile, or browser."He also announced that developers can access the model through Meta's new API."The Meta Model API allows developers to build using Muse Spark for the first time. Our focus is on delivering strong agentic and multimodal models at very low cost. More to come soon,” Zuckerberg wrote.Meta said developers in the US can access Muse Spark 1.1 through the Meta Model API during its public preview. The company is offering free trial credits before moving users to a pay-as-you-go pricing model.According to Meta, the AI model is designed to support coding, tool use, multimodal analysis and long-running tasks with limited human supervision.
The company first introduced the original Muse Spark model in April through a private preview with selected partners.
X executive also reached out to Mark Zuckerberg
Shortly after Zuckerberg's posts, X's Head of Product Nikita Bier also publicly responded with an offer related to the platform's creator features."Hello Mark, would you like me to enable Creator Monetization on your account,” he wrote.However, Zuckerberg did not publicly respond to any of the messages.
