The number of Italian cities with red
warnings for extreme heat continues to increase, ahead of the
peak heat expected midweek and on Wednesday there will be seven,
rising to 15 on Thursday, the health ministry said Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the hottest cities will be Bologna, Brescia,
Florence, Frosinone, Perugia, Rome, and Turin.
On Thursday, in addition to these, Cagliari, Campobasso, Genoa,
Latina, Palermo, Pescara, Rieti, and Viterbo will also be
red-rated by the Ministry of Health.
The red warning (Level 3) indicates a heatwave emergency with
prolonged heat and a high general risk to health, even for young
people in good health.
