MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) ordered the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) to investigate an incident showing several minors allegedly making violent threats in a video circulating on social media.
The video circulating online reportedly showed several minors supposedly brandishing some knives and firearms.
“We’re already having the ACG and the unit concerned in the area to take a look at it,” PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co, speaking Filipino, told reporters in an interview in Camp Crame on Tuesday.

In a separate statement, the Caloocan City Police Station said it had coordinated with the barangay concerned regarding the video, but it did not say which barangay and did not provide further details.
“Based on the initial dialogue with the concerned families, the video was recorded some time ago and does not involve a recent incident. The parents disclosed that the video was allegedly uploaded by individuals who had been threatening them and demanding money in exchange for not posting it online,” the city police explained.
“The matter is now under control, while the alleged threats and unauthorized upload of the video are being investigated for possible legal action,” it added.
The Caloocan City Police Station further urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information. /jpv
