Lagoa Municipality is once again encouraging residents and visitors to embrace a healthier summer with the return of its Verão Ativo 2026 programme, offering free yoga classes on the beach at Praia Grande in Ferragudo.
The outdoor sessions run every Tuesday and Saturday at 8.45am until August 15, giving participants the chance to exercise by the sea.
According to the municipality, the initiative aims to promote physical activity and wellbeing during the summer months while providing a fun and accessible activity for people of all ages.
The classes are open to everyone and no registration fee is required.
Participants are simply asked to bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water.
Upcoming sessions will take place on July 18, 21, 25 and 28, followed by August 1, 4, 8, 11 and 15.
Lagoa Municipality says the project is designed to encourage a more active and balanced lifestyle while making the most of the region’s natural surroundings.
“If you’re in Lagoa, whether you live here or are spending your summer holidays in the municipality, take advantage of this unique opportunity to care for your body and mind with the sea as your backdrop,” the council said.
Participation is free and open to all ages, making it an ideal activity for families, visitors and anyone looking to begin the day with exercise, fresh air and panoramic coastal views.
