Why Tom Holland Says He's on "Cloud 9" at ‘The Odyssey’ Premiere
Tom Holland is feeling legendary.
The Odyssey actor was truly on top of the world at the film’s July 14 premiere at New York City’s AMC Lincoln Square Theater, where he reflected on having worked with great actors like Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon, as well as the film’s director, Christopher Nolan.
“The opportunity—the lessons that I could learn from our industry's titans: Lupita, Annie, Matt and then Christopher Nolan himself,” Holland exclusively told Justin Sylvester during the Live from E! Stream, “for a young actor to get the opportunity to be a part of something like this is so surreal.”
And the 30-year-old was particularly excited to rewatch the epic again, adding, “I cannot wait to see it. I'm honestly—I'm on cloud nine right now.”
Of course, taking on a role like Telemachus—the son of Damon’s Odysseus—wasn’t without its hurdles, which is exactly why Holland was grateful to have Nolan at the helm.
“What Chris does is he paints an amazing picture,” Holland raved. “He builds these wonderful worlds and you really just have to dive in. There's no time for nerves.”
“He shoots at a pace that is unmatched and to be a part of his company is just a pleasure,” Holland continued. “You have to drink in every single moment and I loved every second of it.”

And the Marvel actor’s costars also loved every second of not only working with him, but also his wife Zendaya, who stars as Athena.
“You forget, she and Tom are very young actors,” Damon shared with Elle in May, “and very accomplished for how young they are, but they’re still in their 20s.”
“I absolutely adore her and Tom together,” the Oscar winner added, “and they deserve each other—they’re the two loveliest people.”

In fact, Zendaya, 29, was so good in the role that she was the only person on set to get a “perfect” from Nolan during filming.
“Tom and I were obsessed with this. She got a ‘perfect?’ I’ve never even gotten a ‘great.’ She got a ‘perfect,’” Damon told the outlet. “He and I b---hed about it for the entire rest of the film. ‘Did you get anything today?’ ‘No, I got a 'good—moving on.’' ‘Yeah, me too.’”
The Odyssey opens in theaters July 17.
