A five-year-old boy has died after being hit by a four-wheel drive outside a park in suburban Perth.
Police say a Toyota LandCruiser hit two pedestrians near Miles Park on Belgravia Street in Cloverdale in Perth's south-east about 4.25pm yesterday.
The boy was taken to Perth Children's Hospital but died from his injuries.
A 48-year-old woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries and was in a stable condition this morning.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the crash scene and was uninjured.
Major Crash officers are investigating.
Kaye Class, who lives on Belgravia Street, said she saw the boy being worked on by paramedics.
"A friend told us he had tried to run across the road and his mother had tried to save him,"
she said.
"I stood there for half an hour to 45 minutes and they were just resuscitating, resuscitating."
