
MANILA, Philippines – Private prosecutor Lorna Kapunan said the House prosecution had wanted to present Office of the Vice President Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez as a witness in Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, but decided against it after determining that her testimony was no longer necessary.
Kapunan said the prosecution’s decision to drop Lopez from its witness list demonstrated its willingness to avoid unnecessary or redundant testimony and proceed only with evidence essential to the case. /dp
