Mythical Real: Narratives of Coexistence and Transformation, a group exhibition bringing together established Nepali artists, will open on July 17 at Music Art Gallery in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
Curated by Saroj Bajracharya—an artist, writer and curator—the exhibition examines the relationship between humans and animals through diverse artistic interpretations of coexistence, transformation, mythology, culture and nature.
According to the gallery note, the exhibition features works in painting, sculpture and mixed media that encourage viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of living beings and the stories that bind them. The show aims to present a range of perspectives on how mythological narratives and contemporary realities intersect in artistic practice. The exhibition showcases artworks by artists including Anil Shahi, Bal Krishna Banmala, Chandra Shyam Dangol, Jasmin Rajbhandari, Kapil Mani Dixit, Karma Tashi Gurung, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Laxman Bhujel, Mukesh Shrestha, Muna Bhadel, Pradhumna Shrestha, Rajan Pant, Roshan Bhandari, Sahil Bhopal, Saroj Bajracharya, Sundar Lama and Thinle Dolma.
The exhibition is being organised by Music Art Gallery in collaboration with Khoj Patra.
Music Art Gallery said the exhibition will showcase works by distinguished artists from across Nepal, offering collectors, art enthusiasts and the general public an opportunity to experience diverse contemporary artistic expressions. The gallery expects the exhibition to foster dialogue on culture, ecology and shared existence while strengthening Nepal’s growing visual arts community.
The exhibition will be open to visitors from July 17 at the gallery in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
