
KORONADAL CITY — After several days of search and retrieval operations, rescuers have recovered the body of a man who was buried in a landslide in Barangay E. Alegado, Glan, Sarangani province.
Barangay chairperson Larbie Joy Angeles identified the victim as Ara Asgafu Padayag, one of two residents reported missing after a landslide buried their home in the Native Reservation Area of the village.Padayag’s body was found on Monday afternoon, July 13, following joint retrieval efforts by rescue teams and residents.

Angeles said rescuers dug at least five feet deep before they found his remains.He was immediately laid to rest.Search and retrieval operations continue for his wife, Fely Padayag.

The couple’s two sons, Kendo, 19, and Ryan, 15, survived the landslide after they were rescued from the debris. They are now both recovering.Responders were having difficulty in the ongoing search and retrieval operations due to intermittent rain and unstable soil, which triggered additional small landslides.
