
MANILA, Philippines – House prosecutor Chel Diokno on Wednesday defended the prosecution’s request to subpoena Vice President Sara Duterte’s bank and tax records, telling the Senate impeachment court that the documents are necessary to determine whether she had unlawfully enriched herself while in office.
Speaking on the sixth day of the impeachment trial, Diokno argued that the records are relevant to the allegations under Article II and could help establish whether Duterte remains fit to continue serving as Vice President. /dp
