Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Special Advisor for Communications Hasan Nasbi said on Wednesday that anti-corruption efforts in Indonesia will continue in line with President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to combating graft.
Nasbi was responding to questions about an alleged corruption and money laundering case that was initially investigated by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) before being transferred to the Attorney General's Office.
"Eradicating corruption is one of the President's major commitments. One of the major campaigns launched by the President is the eradication of corruption," Nasbi told reporters ahead of a limited cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.
He said the government's anti-corruption efforts would continue without interruption, citing Prabowo's commitment to tackling graft.
The case involves former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah, who resigned from his post on July 11 and was named a suspect the same day after police searched several locations linked to the investigation.
Asked about the deployment of Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel to guard Adriansyah's residence, a move that has drawn public attention, Nasbi said the measure was in line with Presidential Regulation No. 66 of 2025, which provides state protection for prosecutors while carrying out their duties.
"At that time, the President issued the regulation to ensure that law enforcement officers can carry out their duties without disruption. This is why law enforcement operations in the field are accompanied by TNI and Polri personnel," Nasbi explained.
Previously, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the Presidential Palace had received a letter from Attorney General ST Burhanuddin proposing a replacement for the deputy attorney general for special crimes following Adriansyah’s resignation.
Hadi said the letter, submitted on Tuesday, was being processed as the basis for a presidential decree appointing a successor.
