Daniel Radcliffe, Young Mazino, and Peter Dinklage have joined the cast of Netflix’s animated feature Steps.
The film is a reimagining of the Cinderella story and is directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa. Radcliffe will voice The Prince, Dinklage is Roderick, and Young Mazino is Gef.
Previously announced voice cast members include Ali Wong (BEEF) as Lilith, Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Margot, Amanda Seyfried (Mank) as Cinderella, Bette Midler (The Politician) as the Fairy Godmother, and Nikki Glaser (Nikki Glaser: Bangin’) as Priscilla.
The film’s official synopsis reads: Think you know Cinderella’s “evil” stepsisters? Think again. Sick of living in Cinderella’s shadow, Lilith (Ali Wong) steals the Fairy Godmother (Bette Midler)’s magic wand and hijacks the Royal Ball with her sister Margot (Stephanie Hsu), breaking the Cinderella story as we know it and dooming the kingdom to the tyrannical rule of Priscilla (Nikki Glaser), a villainous schemer who swoops in and snatches the throne.
Now, Lilith must team up with Cinderella (Amanda Seyfried) to fight biker trolls, outrun evil henchmen, and escape the Screaming Woods on an epic quest to save the kingdom, but most importantly, their relationship.
The film’s producers are Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell, and Kim Lessing. The screenplay is by Ava Tramer, James Madejski, Jen Chuck, Dana Schwartz, and Felicia Ho.
Netflix will release the film on November 20.
