
The Challenge is officially moving to Paramount+ for Season 42 as a mix of veterans and newcomers compete in Thailand.
The reality competition series previously aired on MTV, while there have been spinoffs including The Challenge: All Stars that premiered on the streamer as well as a version for sister broadcast network CBS.
The Challenge: Cutthroat will premiere on August 5. Watch the trailer below.
The series will see 24 competitors trying to win the $500,000 cash prize. They will be divided into three teams and the only way to take home a share of the cash prize, is to cross the finish line together as a unit.
Per Paramount+’s logline, to win, nominated captains must balance their hunger for dominance with the need for loyalty, or risk losing their power while solo players must prove they can be team players or lose their chance at the winnings.
The series is hosted by T.J Lavin.
Challengers include Brad Fiorenza, Cedric Hodges, Chris “CT” Tamburello, Chris Underwood, Cory Wharton, Johnny Bananas, Josh Goldstein, Justin Hinsley, Keanu Soto, Leonardo “Leo” Dionicio, Nelson Thomas, Will Gagnon, Adrienne Naylor Alexis Lete, Anna Leigh Wilson, Cara Maria Sorbello, Cassidy Clark, Deb Chubb, Isabella “Izzy” Fairthorne, Michele Fitzgerald, Nurys Mateo, Reilly Smedley, Sydney Segal and Victoria “Tori” Deal.
The series is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions with Julie Pizzi, Justin Booth and Jacob Lane serving as exec producers for the Banijay-owned company. Diego Amson, Brad Tiemann and Joe Awful serve as co-exec producers, Margaret Morales is supervising producer and Benjamin Hurvitz and Melissa Tallerine exec produce for MTV.
