The confiscated substances had a combined weight of about 10 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P68,000, police said.
The seized items will be submitted to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Forensic Laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examination.
The suspect, whose identity was withheld pending the filing of charges, is under police custody and will face charges for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was undertaken by personnel of the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the 404th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, the Regional Maritime Unit in Mimaropa, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the PDEA.
“Every successful anti-drug operation is a victory for every family we protect and every community we keep safe. Illegal drugs have no place in Mimaropa, and we will continue working closely with the PDEA and our partner agencies to stop them before they reach our streets,” said Mimaropa police director Brig.
