
LUCENA CITY — Police arrested an alleged big-time drug trafficker in a drug bust in Batangas City early Thursday, July 16, and confiscated more than P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu, or crystal meth.
The Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) said the 32-year-old suspect, identified only by his alias, “Ragem,” was arrested at 12:25 a.m. after allegedly selling P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police operative in Barangay Sta. Clara.
Recovered from the suspect were nine plastic sachets containing about 220 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,496,000, based on the Dangerous Drugs Board valuation of P6,800 per gram.

Police identified the suspect as a high-value individual (HVI) listed in the drug watchlist. An HVI is classified as a financier, trafficker, manufacturer, importer of illegal drugs, or leader or member of a drug group.
Colonel Oliver Ebora, BPPO director, said police are tracking the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspect remains under police custody and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /mcm
