Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasised Indonesia is open to conduct partnerships with all countries, provided that the cooperation is based on the principle of mutual benefit.
During an online groundbreaking ceremony for the Abadi Masela LNG National Strategic Project, Subianto said Indonesia will continue to pursue a foreign policy of friendship with all nations, regardless of a country’s size or power.
"We are open to all partners, to all countries that wish to invest in Indonesia, partner with Indonesia, and work together on the basis of mutual benefit; that is our position," Subianto said here at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

Indonesia had matured as a nation and should no longer be underestimated, he said, adding that international partners must understand that Indonesia's current leadership is committed to safeguarding and advancing the country's national interests.
"But everyone must also understand that Indonesia has now come of age," he noted.
Indonesia would remain open to the world, he added, continuing to uphold its national dignity and ensure all international cooperation is founded on the principles of mutual respect and benefit.
Subianto also rejected perceptions that Indonesia's friendly and relaxed approach could be mistaken for weakness, saying Indonesians are hardworking people who strive daily to earn a decent living.

"Our people struggle every day to build a better life. Those who go out to sea to catch fish risk their lives to make a living. Across the country, our people work hard," he remarked.
The groundbreaking of Abadi Masela project ends a 27-year wait and marks the start of construction on one of Indonesia's largest energy developments.
The Masela Block is a strategic step toward achieving national gas self-sufficiency by increasing gas supplies for domestic needs.
Gas production from the Masela Block is expected to strengthen Indonesia's energy security while reducing the country's dependence on imported natural gas
