Less than a year after opening its doors, Aki London has earned a place in the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Located in a former bank just off Oxford Circus in London’s Cavendish Square, the restaurant is the first international venture by Malta’s db Group, following the success of its flagship Aki Valletta.
The recognition comes as no surprise for the brand, with Aki Valletta having retained its place in the Michelin Guide for five consecutive years.
In its review, Michelin praised the restaurant’s stylish transformation of the historic banking hall into “a chic brasserie-style space”, highlighting its open kitchen, cocktail bar and Japanese-inspired menu.
Among the standout dishes mentioned were sashimi, maki, nigiri and the restaurant’s caramelised black cod cooked on the robata grill, while diners celebrating a special occasion were encouraged to explore its selection of Wagyu beef cuts.
Since opening last October, Aki London has already made waves on the UK dining scene, featuring in leading British publications and hosting high-profile events, including Romeo Beckham’s fashion brand launch and birthday celebrations, as well as a summer soirée hosted by Oliver Cheshire and Pixie Lott.
The latest Michelin Guide recognition marks another milestone for the Maltese-born restaurant brand as it continues expanding beyond the islands.
