Furthermore, the commencement of this project’s construction marks the realisation of an initiative that has been awaited for nearly three decades.
Hence, he urged all stakeholders to ensure the construction process runs smoothly, so it can promptly benefit the people.
"Abadi Masela National Strategic Project is a truly vital project. We have waited for this project for almost three decades. Thank God, today we are commencing its construction," he said.
Prabowo also highlighted that Indonesia possesses abundant energy resources, including massive oil and gas reserves in the Tanimbar Island, Maluku, which must be utilised to strengthen the foundation of national development.

He added that advancing the energy sector will provide the government with greater fiscal space to improve the quality of public services, ranging from healthcare and education to infrastructure development.
The Abadi Masela LNG project is being developed by INPEX Masela Ltd. in collaboration with Indonesia's state-owned energy corporation Pertamina and Malaysia's Petronas.
In addition to the production capacity of 9.5 million tons of LNG per year, the facility is designed to supply 150 million standard cubic feet per day of domestic piped gas and produce around 35 thousand barrels of condensate per day to bolster national energy security.
